Mangaluru: Women are backbone of every family. If any family wants to be healthy then they have to make sure that women of the family are healthy; mentally, physically and emotionally, said Haji U K Monu, Chairman, Kanachur Hospital and Research Centre, Mangaluru.

He was talking at the inauguration of Women’S Health Week held at Kanachur Hospital and Research Centre, Mangaluru, on 11^th May.

Recollecting the Dialogue of one of the movies of Great actor, Amitabh Bachan (Mere pas maa hai), Dr Gayathri Ramani, Retd. HOD, Dept of OBG, Fr Muller’s Hospital, Mangaluru said that women are the most precious gift a man can ever have in his life.

Speaking on the significance of the Women’s week Umaya Banu, Trustee, Kanachur Hospital and Research Centre, Mangaluru, said that rendering awareness on importance of women health is the need of hour. She also urged women to break the myths and disbeliefs associated with illness.

Dr Shameema, Tutor, Dept of Physiology, Kanachur Hospital and Research Centre, Mangaluru, briefed the gathering on women’s health and fitness. Dr Rekhalatha, Dept of OBG, Kanachur Hospital and Research Centre, Mangaluru, elaborately spoke on the women related problems like rape, harassment and key solutions to it.

Dr Khaja Naseeruddin, Dean, Kanachur Hospital and Research Centre, Mangaluru, appealed to the people to make best use of this women’s week and hospital facilities.

During the week women are provided facilities like consultation, registration, x- ray, ultra sound at free of cost. Other diagnostics and medicines will be provided at a discounted rate.
