Mangaluru: Amrita Yuva Dharma Dhara (AYUDH) Mangaluru, the youth wing of Mata Amritanandamayi Math, Mangaluru will mark the International Day of Peace with tagline Partnership – For Peace – Dignity for All on Sunday, September 20, 2015, the eve of International Day of Peace.
The day will be observed with events – sand art, street play and special attraction Kite Flying at Panambur Beach from 4.30 pm.
The International Day of Peace is observed on September 21 every year.
The theme of special attraction – Kite Flying is “One Sky, One World “. Over 50 kites will be flown, each one symbolising or depicting different countries, thereby different cultures, languages and countries. “As kites oscillate in the wind, it again proves that like wind has no boundaries so is Love and Humanity”, says Sudeep, AYUDH coordinator of Mangaluru. He adds that “the reason behind choosing kites as symbols of peace is that kites are miraculous and universally recognised device which through its interaction with people and nature can touch the spirit of the young and old alike. It reminds nearly everyone who holds the tether, subtly and simply that life and our relationship with each other has more meaning when we can all play together in a positive way.”
The power of intention and the power of prayers marks an important part of the observation. Peace Prayers will be chanted in unison guided by Bri Mangalamrta Chaitanya, President, Mata Amritanandamayi Math, Mangaluru.
